CITB Health & Safety Awareness e-Course

Keep yourself and your colleagues safe when working on site. Learn about potential hazards, gain practical advice, and prove your understanding.

Recommended if you live in the UK, are working in the construction and civil engineering industries, and are looking to:

  • refresh your basic health and safety knowledge

  • apply for a CSCS labourer card.

When you buy the eCourse you get access to:

  • the interactive online course material

  • an online version of the Construction health and safety awareness (GE707) publication

  • an online end of course examination.

 

E-LEARNING BENEFITS

  • The interactive online course takes approximately four hours.

  • The course can be completed in one go or over a period of days or weeks.

  • You have up to 12 months to complete it.

  • Return to the course as many times as you like, it will remember and track your progress.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

To complete the interactive course you need a reliable internet connection and a desktop computer, laptop or standard-sized tablet (eCourse are not supported on mobile handsets).

 

Minimum requirements

  • Operating system: Windows, Apple or Android.

  • Processor: 3 GHz.

  • RAM: 2 GB.

  • Broadband speed: 512 kbps.

  • Screen resolution: 1024 by 768.

  • The most recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari.

What should I consider before I buy?

Can I get a refund if I realise this isn’t the right course for me?

You can request a refund within 28 days of purchase, but only if you haven’t accessed the eCourse by pressing the ‘start’ button. If you have bought vouchers you can request a refund within 28 days of purchase, but only if the voucher hasn’t been redeemed.

 

Do I have access to the equipment that I need?​

To take the end of course examination the technical requirements are stricter and you can only use a desktop computer or laptop.

To complete an eCourse we recommend that you use a desktop computer, laptop, or standard-sized tablet (not a smartphone).

AT THE END OF THE COURSE

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES

WILL HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF:

​

  • Workers' individual responsibilities for their own safety and the safety of others.

  • Typical construction hazards and how these are controlled.

  • How everyone can help achieve better practical standards of safety on site.

  • Legal requirements and liabilities.

  • Working at height.

  • Manual handling.

  • Fire prevention.

  • Work equipment.

  • Occupational health.

EXAMINATION

  • The examination consists of 25 multiple choice questions with a total score of 30.

  • Pass mark is 25 marks out of 30.

  • 20 questions are worth 1 mark.

  • 5 questions are worth 2 marks.

  • You will have 30 minutes to complete the exam.You will need valid photographic ID (a passport or UK/EU driving licence).

  • If you haven’t done so already, be sure to test your system using the same network and computer you will use on the day of the exam.

  • If you are aged 16 to 18, your parent or guardian will need to attend the exam check-in process with Pearson VUE.

 

CERTIFICATION

  • You will receive confirmation that you have successfully completed the Site Safety Plus, Health and safety awareness course in the form of a 'Score Report' from our examination provider, Pearson VUE.

  • It is equivalent to the Level 1 Award in Health and safety in a construction environment and can be used to support your application for a CSCS labourer card.

  • Certification is valid for five years.

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Delegates must be able to read, write, and understand English well to attend the course.

To take the end of course examination you need a reliable internet connection and a desktop computer or laptop with a webcam, speakers and microphone.

We recommend that you make sure you have access to the relevant equipment before purchasing this eCourse as you may not qualify for a refund.
